Question
Many people reach retirement age and go into a decline which leads to death. I am past retirement age and still working, but am considering leaving the work force. I want to remain active and productive. (I'd like to write some books.) How do we discipline ourselves to remain active, avoid paying excessive income taxes and have a comfortable and fun retirement? (I have generous pensions but not much in the way of financial resources, i.e. savings. Buying a motorhome is out.)

Answer
Do things with younger people. They will keep you young. I go camping with my son and his friends, race car racing, and do mid evil re-enactment. Get some hobbies and get with people. Some people join churches and meet new people that way....by the way a tent does not cost much and getting to know nature renews you, as now you will have time to stop and smell that rose!
